John,
The Bard is like the Bible. Just because a character makes a
statement or takes an action, it should not be interpreted as the
opinion of the author or a personal recommendation.
For example, this tactic would not get you very far with your boss or
your spouse, even though they would digest your words and
remember them well. Its more of a prescription for making enemies.
