It was not my intent to offend you, Louis, or anyone else. The assumption
that the EMT was properly trained was implicit in what I said. I would
NEVER say that someone should take a risk without the proper training and
equipment. I support comprehensive training and proper equipment 100 percent.
In the particular case I was commenting on, it should have been obvious to
the EMTs that there were other people in the building, and the injured man
had been injured while in the building that displayed the trefoil. From a
logical standpoint it makes no sense to refuse to enter a building with
people in it merely because it has a trefoil. Did the EMTs actually
believe the occupants of the building were in there deliberately exposing
themselves to "deadly radioactivity"? My comments were meant as a plea for
taking a rational approach. They were not a suggestion that anyone be
shortchanged on training and equipment.
