RE: Radiation Hormesis



I found the old lab report dated June 1991.  For the bean seed

irradiation, the low dose was 100 rad, the med dose was 500 rad and the

high dose was 5000 rad.  I was surprised to see that the hormetic effect

was seen in the low and med dose range (100 - 500 rad). This seems high

to me but then again people are not beans.



The fruit fly (Drosophila) irradiation we only used two doses. Low (500

rad) and high (3280 rad) using a Picker C9 Cobalt teletherapy unit.
