Re: UNH Physicist Expands Vision of MRI with Gas

Anybody know what isotope of Xe is used?  Also, what is being "polarized" ?

All stable isotopes of Xe have  nuclear spin equal to zero.  The unstable

have odd half-integer spin. Does the Rb pumping raise the Xe to an isomeric

state?
