With the caveat that the equipment we tested was not the equipment TSA

uses, CBP ran a series of tests with Kodak testing the scanning systems we

use at the border for vehicles. Our equipment used a Co-60 source, and we

scanned vehicles containing regular and high speed films. After multiple

scans Kodak found no significant fogging of the films. I have heard

anecdotal information that scanning can affect the speed of the film,

raising a film's actual exposure level. We did not test for this.
