Technician opening at Auburn University





SAFETY AND HEALTH TECHNICIAN   



The Department of Risk Management and Safety of Auburn University is

seeking candidates for the position of Safety and Health Technician. 

The individual in this position will perform technical duties to include

collection, transport, processing, and storage of radioactive, chemical

and biological materials and waste in support of the University's

laboratory and research operations.  The incumbent will report to the

Radiation Safety Officer.



The minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED. Those

Safety and Health Technician candidates that will be assigned to the

hazardous materials emergency response team must successfully pass a

post offer, pre employment physical as required by USEPA and Alabama

Department of Environmental Management regulations. 

   

The following qualifications are desired: laboratory or technical

experience with radioactive and/or hazardous materials; bachelor's or

associate's degree in technical field; and college course work in

biology, chemistry or physics.
