communications regarding DHS and OPD Standards, etc.

What?

Kick-off Meeting for the development of DHS Technical Performance 
Standards for Gamma- and X-Ray Screening Equipment: formation of the 
ANSI N42.40 committee.


Who should attend?

* Technical experts in gamma- and x-ray security applications 
relevant to homeland security

* Representatives from manufacturers of gamma and x-ray security 
equipment

* Federal and State government stakeholders
* Relevant participants from the standards development community



Where and When?

May 26, 2005 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology 
(NIST), Gaithersburg, MD. Coffee at 8:30 AM, Adjourn by 5 PM. Note 
also below reference to a related meeting May 24-25, ANSI N43.16.

Agenda:

Morning: orientation by DHS and ANSI; talks on state-of-art in x-ray 
and gamma-ray screening.

Afternoon: parallel breakout sessions to form two or more standards-
writing working groups according to agreed upon categories of 
technology; organize leadership and roadmap forward.

larry.hudson at nist.gov before May 16, 2005. Respondents will receive 
a confirmation and more detailed agenda and instructions.
