Radiation Protection Standards for Dental Patients and Staff
A discussion about NCRP Report Number 145: Radiation Protection in
Dentistry

 Presentation by:

Dr. John W. Brand, Associate Professor
Department of Diagnostic Sciences
 School of Dentistry
University of Detroit, Mercy

Dr. Brand teaches oral radiology, oral diagnosis and diagnosis and
treatment of TMJ pathology and facial pain. His research focus is in the
accuracy of clinical examination procedures and validation of teaching
methods. He is a past president of the American Academy of Oral and
Maxillofacial Radiology and recently chaired the committee that wrote the
report Radiation Protection in Dentistry for the National Council on
Radiation Protection and Measurements. Dr. Brand earned B.S., D.D.S. and
M.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and is a Diplomate of the
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Schedule:  Thursday, February 17, 2005

5:30 p.m.: Registration / Attitude adjustment
6 p.m.: Dinner
7 p.m.: Program

Meal Choices:

Chicken marsala and a vegetarian option upon request.  The entrées will
include pasta with marinara sauce, green bean almondine, salad, soda pop
choices and a cookie or brownie desert.

Cost:

Members & Guests:  $15*  HFHS dentists and employees are my guests!!!
Non-Members: $20* ($10 to become a member)
Students:  $5*

* Note: To promote timely registration, since we are required to preorder
meals, late registrations will be charged an additional $5 and meals cannot
be guaranteed.
