In a nation as target rich as the United States, one of the major
problems for one contemplating an attack would be to overcome the
immobilization from the vast array of available choices.
Given the absurd ease with which US borders can be penetrated, I'd love
to hear rational proposals from the NYT, Norm, know-nukes, and so on for
safeguarding the nation. Absent this possibility, too many are quite
willing to agitate for the abolition of nuclear technology for the
simple goal of abolition. This goal is completely independent of
national security and I believe the advocates are fully aware of this
non sequitur.
Cheers,

Some fears are like Slinkies -- not really good for anything, but you
still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
