[ RadSafe ] F-18 Detections

Hi All, 

A while back there was some conversation about detecting positrons with a G-M detector.  Unfortunately I can no longer find it.   A post was written indicating the positron will interact with exterior of the detector before it is able to enter the chamber.  Thus, all of your detections will be the 511 keV photons and not the positrons themselves.  If someone has a reference for this information I would be very appreciative.
