O.K. folks, I've figured out the suspicious subject problem. It's really a
"feature" of the listserver. The process that distributes mail to the
subscribers of the RADSAFE list checks for certain words in the message headers
in order to minimize junk messages being distributed. One example is the word
VACATION in the subject of a message. Messages with the word vacation in the
subject will be bounced in order to prevent those annoying automatic "I'm on
vacation" messages which some use in their mail readers in order to let all
their correspondents know why they are not responding to email. Those of you
have been doing email for a while have probably seen these. You can imagine
what happens when a subscriber to a mailing list has one of these automatic
vacation notifiers going; the list gets swamped with vacation messages.
Anyway, I thought most of you should at least be aware that messages will
be bounced by the list if certain words are in the header fields. If this
happens to you when you try posting a message to RADSAFE, please try resending
the message with the offending header field slightly modified if you can.
