Re: Magnetic Interference
I published a short blurb in American Laboratory about 10 y ago
reporting interference--not with VDTs but with galvanometric
instruments. The culprit was a *strongly* magnetized nitrogen
cylinder. We tested abt 20 high pressure cylinders (with an
ordinary compass) and found them all to be magnetized.
Inquiries to mfrs yielded no explanations. I've no doubt that
magnets this strong would have influenced VDTs.
Hope this is at least mildly interesting. I'm new on the list.
