New Health/Safety Gopher"

NEW UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY GOPHER SERVER:

UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON

This is to announce the Environmental and Physical Safety Gopher Server at
the University of Houston. Located in the ADMINISTRATION folder of the
University main Gopher server, this repository of UH-specific health, safety
and environment information is now online and available to anyone able to
electronically access the UH Gopher.

Although still under construction, the EPSD gopher already contains numerous
files with information on emergency recalls, safety alerts, past newsletters,
policies and procedures, the UH safety organization, and specialized safety
program areas. These program area files include Chemical, Biological,
Radiation, Fire, Food, and Physical Safety, and contain guidance on topics
such as hazardous waste disposal, workers' compensation claims, radioactive
material use, and recombinant DNA review and approval. Other significant
topics addressed include food facility safety, emergency evacuation planning,
hurricane preparedness, hazard communication, and a complete listing of all
courses offered by EPSD (including the popular CPR and community first aid).
