I agree with Lorna Bullerwell, Cornell University, that Professor Chilton's  
(Professor Emeritus University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign-deceased) book is  
the way to go.

I can did up old course notes from his class on shielding from the 1970's over
in Nuclear Engineering which may help if you wish.  I would have answered sooner  
but had IDNS inspectors on campus.
