Bruce, I would guess that Th232(alpha,4n)U232 would work. You would also make other U nuclides but because of the half life and choice of beam energy you could make U232 the principle activity. I don't see it as source or byproduct material. Accelerator produced is the only way looks to me. Therefore no NRC. Dale
