In Canada the Radiation Protection Bureau in Ottawa,(775 Brookfield Road,
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1A 1C1, phone "country code+613+954-6697) has been
providing dosimetry services (TLD reading, bioassay, etc.) for several years
without any regulatory support. A number of labs do their own dosimetry.
The Atomic Energy Control Board - which has authority from a federal Act and
regulations under that act, DO NOT have an approval function by law. They have
circulated a draft (C106) standard for approval but it has no weight of law
yet.
