Vacancy

1. On the chance that this may be of some interest since I'm
sure other radsafers also have spent time in the Medical Physics
wars (unfortunately mine was in nuclear medicine and other forms
of diagnostic imaging), the chief radiation therapy physics
position at Stanford is presently being advertised by the AAPM.
On the chance some of you may know a qualified person that
may be interested, please note the following:

------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: 9-13-94
Subj: Director of the Division of Radiation Physics
Status: Open Position Requisition
Location: Stanford University School of Medicine
              Stanford, CA

1. The Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University
School of Medicine is searching for a Director of the Division
of Radiation Physics. This position is in the University tenure
line professoriate and will be at the rank of Associate Professor
or Professor.

2. Candidates should have significant credentials in radiation
physics research and teaching, as well as administrative and
leadership skills.

3. The Division of Radiation Physics provides clinical physics
services at the Stanford University Hospital and two satellite
facilities. There is an accredited radiation oncology residency
program. Current research programs in the department include
conformal therapy, 3-D treatment planning, stereotactic radio-
therapy, and radioimmunotherapy. The existing physics section
will be expanded by the addition of new faculty, personnel, space

these efforts. Stanford University is committed to increasing
representation of women and members of minority groups on its
faculty and particularly encourages application from such
