Re: Emergency Response

At the University of Western Ontario we have a 24 hr on call system
for emergency response. We have a pager that is shared among seven
trained individuals within our health and safety department. During
working hours our employees know to contact the department directly
for a spill emergency. The campus police also contact us if they
find a problem. After hours the pager is activated by the police in
case of a spill. As a back up there is a phone in list of everybodys
home numbers and cellular numbers (if they have one). We have the
training and equipment to handle most situations (up to SCBA's and
level B environment suits). This has served the university's needs
so far (fingers crossed), including a major lab explosion and large
PCB spill.

The problem isn't that there are too many fools in this world,
rather its that lightning isn't selective enough.
