Re: Mammography Doses

The American College of Radiology (ACR) provides guidelines for
exposure per view, recommending it be less than 0.3 cGy per view, this
is the glandular dose for a specific compressed thickness and tissue
     composition.

The Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals Organization
(JCAHO), in the past, required institutions they reviewed to determine
and provide patient dose information. Private offices do not fall
     under their regulations.

If the radiologist does not contact you, perhaps request to speak with
the consultant who performs the annual calibrations and is the listed
medical physicist on the ACR accreditation. Dose information should be
     available from this person.
