I obtained the paper I had refered to last week which describes the fabrication and yeild of Pu-Be sources. The paper mainly deals with yield estimates; nonetheless, there is an interesting description of the fabrication technique used by Los Alamos. Again, there is no mention of estimated service life. Los Alamos, however, did provide some QA by pressure testing their sources to 200 psi.
