CML inquiry

Subject: CML induction

Dear Dr. Jeff Kleck,

Your OS@varian address didn't work so I am transmitting to the Radsafer's
list.

You might look at an article by Dale Preston et al. that contains info on CML,
which falls in the rubric of leukemia when coding disease. Here is a
citation:

Preston, D.L., et al. (12 other names)
Cancer incidence in atomic bomb survivors. Part III: Leukemia, Lymphoma
and Multiple Myeloma, 1950-1987.
Radiation Research. 137(2):S68-S97 (1994).

Also, watch out for the strong frequency of occurrence of the Philadephia
chromosome, which is almost always seen in CML cells. This is a
translocation between unassociated genes from chromosomes 9 and 22
that results in a "fused" gene. It can be detected with remarkable
sensitivity in blood and marrow of treated CML patients.
