The Manitoba Cancer Foundation has the following immediate position 
open in its Department of Medical Physics :                 

                  Head, Section of Radiation Protection

We  are seeking an experienced individual for the position of Head of the
Section   of  Radiation  Protection. The individual will manage a 
provincial radiation protection  program, which is operated under a 
contract between  the Manitoba Government and the Manitoba Cancer 
Foundation. This individual will  head a  team  of  five  Radiation 
Protection Officers  who  provide  radiation protection  service  for  
both  ionizing  and  non-ionizing  sources of radiation throughout the 
Province of Manitoba in medical, paramedical and public  health areas. 
Duties include management of the service, teaching, consultation and 
research. The incumbent will be appointed  as  a  Senior Physicist  in  
the  Department of Medical Physics, MCTRF  and  a  faculty appointment in 
the University of Manitoba may be applied for.

Applicants  should preferably have a Ph.D. in Medical Physics  or  Health
Physics and at least seven years relevant experience. This could include 
experience with  the  implementation  of health    physics   regulations   
and legislation and/or hospital radiation safety. Good communication  
skills  in dealing with government, medical  staff  and  the  public are 
essential. Preference will be given to applicants who  have or are eligible 
for ABHP and/or FCCPM certification.
