The use of work study students is an acceptable way to staff your
office, however some problems arise with this option. One problem is
that the students with experience (ex-navy nucs) can get better
paying jobs than work study will pay, at least at ISU. The second is
continiuty of the work force. The last can be overcome with a good
inter-office training program.
At ISU we staff the whole office with students, both grad and
undergrad. None of these persons are work study however. They are
classified as "part time" and thus can be payed more.
Hope this helps.
