Job Posting - Health Physicist - Texas



For the information of any interested parties out there, there is
currently a job posting for a Health Physicist III with the Texas
Dept. of Health, Bureau of Radiation Control.  The position is
headquartered in the Houston regional office, and is for a field
inspector in the Bureau's Division of Compliance and Inspection. The
basic job description is as follows:

Performs inspections of radioactive materials and non-healing arts x-
ray equipment users to determine compliance with Texas Regulations
for Control of Radiation.  Documents inspection findings and submits
compliance reports through regional office to central headquarters
for evaluation and further action.  Performs investigations of
incidents and complaints as requested and documents results through
written reports.  Participates as a member of the radiological
emergency response team as directed.  Responds to general information
inquiries and interacts with the regional program manager and central
office.  Travel approx. 60% (5% overnight).

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or
university plus 3 years full-time paid experience directly related
to radiological health functions, health physics, or radioactive
materials usage.  Additional experience can be substituted for
educational requirements.

Salary:
$30,588/yr.
