Hi all

It depends on the CT apparatus and the parameters used
(Filtration, mAs, Length of scans, ...). But generaly speaking
and according to a survey done by the NRPB (NRPB R-249, 1991)in
the UK, the mean values of effective dose equivalent (ICRP26) for
all models of CT scanners for Lumbar Spine examiation has been
reported as follows:

Minimum mean:	 2.34 mSv
Maximum mean:	20.3  mSv

which as you see has a ratio of 8.7! Hope it gives an idea of the
amount of dose involved for the CT examination.

Cheers;
Bijan
