Position Announcement



The University of Florida's Division of EH&S has an employment 
opportunity for a Coordinator, EH&S.  Work time will be equally 
divided between health physics and computer support responsibilities 
as follows:
Health Physics Responsibilities:
1. Supervise 2 radiation control technicians whose duties include 
dosimetry, radioactive material receipt and inventory, and other 
related functions.
2. Conduct radiation safety training for ancillary personnel.
3. Indoor radon monitoring and participation in EPA's Radon 
Measurement Proficiency program.
4. Electromagnetic fields monitoring program for university 
facilities.

Computer Specialist Responsibilities:
1. Development of EH&S's presence on the WWW to deliver general 
safety information and services to the UF community.
2. Maintain the EH&S local area network and provide support to about 
50 users.  EH&S operates in a Novell/DOS/Windows environment.
3. Set up new computers, install software, install and configure 
token ring and ethernet adapters.  Troubleshoot problems and provide 
basic user training.
4. EH&S maintains numerous databases.  Currently, most of these 
databases are in dBase III.  This position will oversee and assist in 
the transition from dBase to Microsoft Access.

Minimum qualifications area master's degree in an appropriate area of 
specialization or bachelor's degree in same.  Prefer degree in health 
physics with 2 years experience in health physics and 2 years 
experience in computer support services.
