     While it is true that a processor must be NVLAP accredited, it is 
     equally important to evaluate each processor as to how well they 
     process a film or a TLD dosimeter, i.e.; accuracy and precision for 
     the environment your workers will be exposed it. While the regulators 
     are only concerned with NVLAP, which says the processor must be within 
     +/- 50% of the true dose, that difference potentially could be 
     disastrous in a litigation issue, with a slick plaintiff's attorney. 
     Check out the various vendors and base your decision on a through 
     evaluation of the data, both from NVLAP and from external blind 
     spiking conducted on a periodic basis (external to the NVLAP process).

     There are a number of commercial film badge vendors the largest of 
     them are Landauer in Chicago, ICN in California and Siemens 
     Gammasonics in Chicago.  The basic requirements for the selection of a 
     TLD processor is that they be NAVLAP accredited.  If you need more
