Re: Radioactive waste bags
Kent,
I work at the Byron Nuclear Power Station. We used to use clear rad
bags here but ran into foreign materials exclusion since the bags may
be hard to see in the fuel pool or refueling cavity.
The standard vendors we used for these bags were NPO (Nuclear Power
Outfitters) and Defensap (Defense Apparel).
NPO's address is:
P.O. Box 737
Crystal Lake, IL
60039-0737
Telephone: (815) 455-3777
Fax: (708 658-6590
I don't have Defensap's address handy but I hope this helps.

I am looking for a vendor who has clear radioactive waste bags (drum
liners) with the radiation symbol and appropriate wording. I have seen
translucent yellow bags; however, this is not what I am seeking.
Thank you in advance,
Kent Lambert

P.S. The purpose is to see the contents so it can be visually inspected
for unauthorized materials, e.g., sharps, lead pigs, radioactive labels
on decayed waste, etc.
