SCRUTINIZATION OF THE NRC PCDOSE COMPUTER CODE

The NRC PCDOSE personal computer program was developed for the NRC during
the late 1980's to perform calculations to determine radioactive dose due to
the annual averaged offsite release of liquid and gaseous effluent by U.S.
commercial nuclear power facilities. Using NRC approved dose assessment
methologies, it has acted as an inspector's tool for verifying the
compliance of the facilities dose assessment software. In 1993 the code was
made available, by privatization, to the public and large numbers of copies
have since been distributed throughout the health physics community.

As an author of the NRC PCDOSE code and in view of the recent scrutinization
of the MICROSHIELD code, I would be interested in any response regarding
problems users are having with this code by contacting me DIRECTLY. Thank you.
