Re Finger Dosimetry

In response to Paul M W Chan's request for information about Finger
dosimetry:

At Yankee Atomic monitoring of extremity dose is accomplished a "Band-
aid" style dosimeter supplied by NE Technology Limited (originally by
Vinten Instruments). A LiF phoshor element that essentially measures
at about 7 mg/cm^2 is positioned within a satchel that is worn on a
finger such that the element is at the tip of the finger.

(1) We issue the dosimeters on a quarterly basis and we will process
   during the quarter if required.
(2) The dosimeter is worn on the finger tip, towards the palm and
   within the gloves.
(3) Being within the gloves limits the liklihood of contamination.
(4) Extremity monitoring guidance may be found in NUREG/CR-4297.
