RE: Manufacturers of Standardized Calibr

Erick:

I talked to a rep from North American Scientific, Inc out in California at
the CRSO conference in July. I don't know what you're paying, but he quoted
me $400 for a 50,000 dpm NIST traceable I-125 sample. He said if I supplied
the container he could fill it up (if your phantom takes special sized
inserts). Al Zirkes was the Marketing V.P., and their phone number is (818)
503-9201.

Unfortunately, the tech I had assigned this project to transferred out, and
I haven't followed up on it. Has anyone out there in RADSAFE world had any
experience with this company?

Radsafers:

I'm looking for a "less expensive" supplier of traceable I-125 calibration
sources (between 1 and 10 uCi). Typically, I like to use the epoxy filled
"test tube" type of configuration (ideal for insertion into a neck phantom).
I've been purchasing from Isotope Products, but their prices have gone
through the roof. I've considered using Amersham/Isotrak, however, the
sources they have available are in standardized solution configurations
(ampoule).

Can any of you point me in the direction of alternative manufacturers of
this type of source?

Thanks for your help!
