Uranyl Acetate- continues

By the way, the hazard of uranyl acetate, thorium nitrate, etc. is that they
are powerful oxidizers. That is why they are used in the chemical world,
not for their radioactivity. In California we acknowledge that they are
exempt from RAM disposal, however, they can not be flushed down the sewer due
to their reactivity as oxidizers. Because common chemical disposal companies
will not take RAM, they must be disposed of rad waste - kind of a catch 22.
