Laser hazard analysis and record-keeping system

I am seeking input from any Laser Safety Officer or department out 
there who has experience, good or bad, from MS-DOS or Windows 
compatable systems for Laser hazard analysis and record-keeping.  
The RLI LAZAN 4.0 or LAZAN PLUS for Windows come to mind but there 
may be others.

Are these programs helpful?
Worth the investment?
Are they cumbersome, easily adaptable?

I am updating a Laser Safety Program involving several hundred 
lasers, research and medical, above class 3b and thought the program 
might be a really great tool.
