Re: Decontamination of Pu facilities

The information that you seek is available in the commerical market.
You might try ChemNuclear, U.S. Ecology or Allied Group Technology.
You might be lucky and get the information on the RADSAFE board
without any associated cost...You can acquire this information,
however, it requires that you PAY to PLAY...Good luck

I have been assigned the task of assisting with the decontamination
and possible dismantling of a retired Pu facility. I am seeking
advice (no condolences please) and proven methods of decontaminating
and/or fixing alpha contamination in place. I have had the honor of
working with Pu/Am in the past, but I always welcome any good
advice.

Areas that would be beneficial are: "Vacuum Blasting" technology and
products that could be sprayed or introduced as a vapor to attach to
the contamination and reduce the airborne contamination levels with
out loading HEPA prefilters and that will not readily dry out.
