Re: Radioactive Materials Set

     To Kevin Scott:

Because I did not find your E-mail address (our system does not always
include everything), I am sending this out to RADSAFE (others may want
     this information anyway).

The Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, 205 Capital
Avenue, Frankfort, KY 40601 502/227-4543 maintains a listing of
brokers and interested persons who might have a use for the set you
described. The officer in charge is Terry DeVine, PhD, although I am
not sure he is so awfully worried about the PhD part. Give them a
call, they may be able to help you dispose of the set, and there could
even be someone out there interested in purchasing the set from you
who is not a RADSAFE subscriber.

Good luck in disposing of the sources.

Dear Radsafers:
I've come across some Eduquip Inc. Radioactive Material Sets. I guess they were

used in an educational setting to test which of the materials caused exposure on

a photographic plate. This was then verifed by the students using a Geiger
counter on the materials. The materials that are radioactive include: Uranium
Sulfate, Uranium Nitrate, and Thorium Nitrate. Does anyone out in Radsafe land
have any experience with disposal of these kits?

Thanks in advance
