Radiation Surveys

     Greetings, Radsafers.
     
     So, here is the scene:
     
     Power Reactor, shut down for refueling.
     
     You are about to do a radiation survey. 
     
     You will use a portable instrument.
     
     
     a. what are you thinking before the survey?
     
     b. what criteria do you use to select your instrument?
     
     c. someone watches you perform your survey: what do they see?
     
     
     Thank you for your response. Although you can reply to me directly, 
     this "bread-and-butter" activity of Radiation Protection just *might* 
     be of interest to all. <G>
     
     Your ideas and thoughts, with responsibility mine, will be passed on 
     to the Rad Protection People here at St... Lucie as part of a 
     refresher course on portable instruments and radiation surveys.
     
     So, come on, tell us what you think and do on radiation surveys.
