radsafe partitioning

As much as I value the input on this subject, I really think it would be a
good idea to get back to the subject of radiation protection.

But before that... my two pence :-)

If people genuinely desire a breakdown of RADSAFE into separate mailing
lists, there is nothing to prevent people from forming their own mailing
lists. However, those considering it may wish to ask a current mailing list
manager about the time commitment involved in such an undertaking, especially
when a list begins to accumulate a large subscriber base. I am not
complaining about the time that I commit to RADSAFE; this is a labor of love.
I also recognize that the time I spend maintaining the list would be greatly
decreased were I not also romulus' system administrator.

Those who still wish to air their views on the partitioning of RADSAFE should
send their comments directly to me. My e-mail address is in the .sig at the
bottom of this message. I should note, however, that I'm am personally
against it for reasons pertaining to time commitment, machine load, and
general philosophy. (i.e., no matter what you say, I'm not going to change
my mind <grin>)

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that there are other fine
mailing lists of more limited scope for those in fields related to radiation:

MEDPHYS, a mailing list for medical physicists --

To subscribe to MEDPHYS, send the following message to
listserv@cms.cc.wayne.edu:

subscribe MEDPHYS YourFirstName YourLastName

DOSE-NET, a mailing list for questions relating to dosimetry --

To subscribe to DOSE-NET, send the following message to mailserv@orau.gov:

subscribe DOSE-NET

RADIOBIOLOGY, a mailing list for those with an interest in animal, cellular
or molecular radiobiology or clinical radiotherapy --

To subscribe to RADIOBIOLOGY, send the following message to
Mailbase@mailbase.ac.uk:

join radiobiology YourFirstName YourLastName

Thank you all for your time and patience!

P.S. How about remembering to put your e-mail addresses at the end of any
messages you post to RADSAFE?

P.P.S. Has anyone had a chance to look at the new beta of CAP88-PC v2.0 by
Barry Parks?
