Fire at Los Alamos Update

Firefighting efforts continue at the Dome fire. The expected wind shift
that will carry
smoke away from the Lab may not occur until sunset. Presently, there is no
danger to the
Lab or townsite. Approximately 900 fire fighters are working on the fire..
Fire attack includes slurry bombers, helicopters and ground crews.  
Current estimate is 16,000 acres.
