Re: Use of syringe shields



It is common practice in the hospitals where I act as advisor, to use a
butterfly for IV radioisotope injections.
This enables the use of syringe shields without the danger of needle stick
injury when the shield is removed.
This may make the process a little more difficult and there will be the need for
saline flushing after, but most of the technicians I have spoken to find this
the best and safest policy.
