I am in possession of a particularly hideous bowl -- glazed bright
red-orange on the outside and a hospital green on the inside.  And you
guessed it -- the orange side is detectably  "hot",  the green interior
is not.

So consistent with everything I've read on the subject, the orange glaze
sure looks to be the culprit -- unless that green glaze is better
shielding...
