Dosimetry and Lawsuits
The issue of issuing otherwise unnecessary dosimetry as a defense against
pootential lawsuits. I have been very interested to read the experience of
utilities in this regard. Is anyone aware of a university of hospital being
sued for injury allegedly arising from occupational exposure?
Also, in these environments, would the dosimetry be a useful defense?
Unlike our research reactor, our veterinary and research workers are not
closely watched (by management) to ensure they are using the issued
dosimetry. Couldn't a plaintiff simply claim the dosimeters simply didn't
catch the exposures to they were subject?
If you wish to send responses to me, I'll post a compilation. If you think
others will be interested, just post to the list.
