RE: NESHAPS

Barbara:

To my knowledge, EPA has not rescinded NESHAPs rule yet.  Last public 
hearing on this issue
was held on 2-28-96 by EPA.  NEI(Nuclear Energy Institute) and CORAR(Council 
On Radionuclides and Radiopharmaceuticals) testified in favor of 
transferring the NESHAPs 
authority from EPA to NRC.  Several Environmental Activists Groups testified 
against this transfer
of regulatory authority.  They stated that they trust EPA more than NRC for 
public protection.

We are also waiting for the final resolution on this issue.

Just curious, what's the status of the NESHAPS regulations?  Do any states
have agreements with EPA to inspect against these regs yet?
