The last time I went looking for lantern mantles to use as check sources, I
discovered that those distributed by a well-known manufacturer of camping
equipment no longer contained Thorium. However, a national hardware chain
equally well-known for its helpful staff did stock a house brand (manufactured
in Malta) which had the desired qualities. Happy hunting! You'll know you've
struck Au (well, Th anyway) when you see the warning label stating "..contains
a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer."
