     I saw an old book on time about "industrial uses of radioactive 
     sources" at one time.  The book was very wide-ranging and seemed to 
     cover many of the current uses.  I'm sorry I don't remember the exact 
     title, but it should be close to the text in the quotes in the first 
     sentence.
