Relative to the choice of "dpm/100 cm|2" versus "dpm/dm|2": keep in mind
that this was developed 4 or 5 decades ago in a place that is still
being pulled reluctantly, with heels dug in, kicking and screaming, into
the SI world. 100 cm|2 was more understandable to us natives.
