Re: Teaching Material - Cloud Chamber

You haven't been to the Bible belt lately, have you John? We also have a
bit of 1st class gambling in some of the Bible belt, I'm told. But yes, I
can remember having bourbon prescribed for my wife by the doctor, taking it
downstairs to the pharmacy, having the pharmacist say, "I'll be back in a
few minutes." After 15 or 20 minutes, the prescription was filled, complete
with label on the bottle, thanks to the local bootlegger. <GRIN> But that
was in 1958, and this is now.

Bacardi makes a denatured alcohol solution -- denatured with water, 25%.
Or, failing that, any of a host of flavors of pure grain alcohol, 95%
ethanol, 5% water (some have called it tincture of water, to keep it from
prying palates) would be effective for this use. For a comprehensive list
of local vendors, look in your yellow pages under Liquor, Retail.

Your mileage will vary by county ordinances, esp. in bible-belt states.
