Age-dependent dose factors for external exposure

Hello Radsafers,

ICRP 56 deals with age dependent doses to members of the public for intake
of radionuclides. The difference between adults and children arise from a
higher sensitivity of children to radiation, different time of integration
and different biokinetics.

My problem is how do all these differences apply as far as external exposure
is concerned ?
I have never came across the idea of age dependence when dealing with
literature related to external exposure but maybe there are. In this case,
could you indicate any useful references.

Are there any specialists that could answer to these questions ?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

Jean-Michel Mure
