Lab Mixed Waste

Dear Radsafers:

There's a new document available for downloading on the EPA Mixed Waste Team HomePage at:

http://www.epa.gov/radiation/mixed-waste/docs/lab_mw.zip

(It is in WordPerfect format and is 535 kB - zipped.)

This report details the volumes and characteristics of EPA laboratory generated mixed waste over a three year
period (92-94). The report also outlines a suggested EPA laboratory generated mixed waste integrated waste
management framework based on current research and documentation for improving EPA waste management and
minimization efforts. Please note that this is not a new or proposed regulation. This document was developed to help
EPA laboratory staff better manage their own mixed waste. It's been posted on the EPA Mixed Waste Team
HomePage because most of the mixed waste generated in EPA laboratories is found in non-EPA laboratories (LSC,
HPLC).

If you have any questions or would like a hard copy version of the report please send an e-mail to me.

Sincerely,
