RE: Canadian Rad Waste Disposal
In response to the request:" Is there a radioactive waste site in Canada..."
There is a site exploited by Chalk River laboratories (Atomic Energy Canada
Limited, AECL) in Chalk River, north west Ontario. This is the only waste
site in Canada (to my knowledge).
The WEB site for AECL Chalk River is

The other question: " some hazardous waste are shipped in Canada from the US
for disposal. Is teh same true for rad waste ?"
I don't think so, but you should ask directly to the people of Chalk
River...

Hello neighbors to the north.
Where do you Canadians dispose of your radioactive waste? Is there a
waste site in Canada? (I presume there must be.) I understand that some
hazardous wastes are shipped to Canada from the U.S. for disposal. Is
the same true for rad waste?
Thanks in advance.
