Job Announcement



Vanderbilt University has a position open for a Senior Institutional Safety
Officer in the Department of Institutional Safety.  This department is
responsible for a comprehensive safety program including management and
disposal of radioactive materials and hazardous chemicals, a radiation
safety program under a broadscope radioactive materials license, fire and
general safety, and environmental safety.  The current position would have
responsibilities primarily in the area of radiation safety training,
management of a hazardous chemical/radioactive material disposal program,
licensing/safety related to accelerators, and shielding design.  Actual
duties could vary depending of the individual's qualifications.   The
position calls for a person with a bachelors degree in the field of physical
science or engineering and five years of related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.  The salary for this
position ranges from $30K to $50K.  Persons not meeting the qualification
requirements will be considered for a lesser position in the organization.
